The NIA Series

When I started formulating my first attempt at writing a book, I wanted it to be fun and exhilarating to read. I have been asked dozens of times what genre and themes can you find in the NIA Series of books. Well, I must confess I’m confused about which genre is best to label the first book, ‘Feral Eyes,’ when writing and dreaming up the characters, everything just flowed from my imagination, and my pen never stopped moving. It was like I was in Auto Drive. I never set out to choose a genre, but now in retrospect, I must categorize each book as merging through a diverse mix of genres.

In my life, I have been recycled so many times, started down too many roads to count, ended in dead-ins, cul-de-sacs, and driven on treacherous paths without guardrails, cliffs on all sides. I don’t know if any of you have maneuvered around a ‘Roundabout or traffic circle with a half dozen turnoffs. This is still where I find myself.

My life thus far has been about changing who I am, we are the Sum of our experiences, and hopefully, we learn from the positives and negatives of such. I guess you could stereotype me as a troubled youngster living out on the streets of Northern California, trying to survive. I started hitchhiking at the age of about 13 years old. In fact, I have hitchhiked across the United States a few times. Danger was where I laid my head. I was abandoned by my parents; they sold the family home while I was ‘Sent’ away. All I had was a backpack and the clothes I wore. No family to take me in, no one to hold or hug. Nope, I was a Street Urchin. I learned a lot about people and life… way before I was prepared to do so.
